Application and manufacturing of industrial robots

In the past few years, the application of industrial robots in China has developed rapidly. Although there is still a big gap between the density of China's industrial robots and Singapore in 2019, the density of China's industrial robots in 2014 was only 36 units, which is lower than the global average density.
Domestic machinery is mainly used for machine tool processing, castings and forgings, heat treatment, etc., and its quantity, variety and performance can no longer meet the needs of industrial production development. Therefore, in our country, it is mainly to gradually expand the scope of application, focusing on the development of casting and heat treatment robots to reduce labor intensity and improve working conditions. While applying special robots, when conditions permit, it is also necessary to develop general-purpose robots and demonstration robots, computer-controlled robots, and combined robots.

China's procurement of industrial robots (or installed capacity) is quite large. According to the IFR report, global sales of industrial robots were 373,000 units in 2019, of which 140,500 units were sold to China, accounting for 37.6% of global sales. China's procurement volume not only ranks first in the world, but also surpasses second-ranked Japan (49,900 vehicles), third-ranked United States (33,300 vehicles) and fourth-ranked South Korea (27,900 vehicles).

In China, industries such as automobiles, 3C, home appliances, and metal processing are the earliest applications of industrial robots. Among them, the number of industrial robots used in automobiles and 3C can account for half of China's application of industrial robots.
